Life after 'L Word'

In the pilot for "Proof," a terminally ill billionaire hires a doctor to explore life-after-death. Jennifer Beals, who puts her Yale education to good use, stars in this supernatural medical drama. Kyra Sedgwick is one of the executive producers. 9 p.m., TNT

Investigating a detective

In the Season 6 premiere of "Rizzoli & Isles," an unarmed man is shot on a subway platform in Boston (where the subway is called "the T," FYI). A detective becomes the prime suspect. 8 p.m., TNT

Jimmy meets Bush

Chris Christie has been a frequent guest on Jimmy Fallon's talk shows. Whenever the bridge was open, that is. Another Republican (ex-) governor and presidential hopeful, Jeb Bush, visits "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." Other guests are Billy Crystal, who has his own TV show, "The Comedians," on FX, and Australian rocker Courtney Barnett, who brings her smart lyrics to Minneapolis this weekend for Rock the Garden. 10:35 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11
