Not so quiet riot

"Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer" (8 p.m., HBO) may not be a profile of the world's most talented band, but they may be the bravest. This documentary provides extraordinary insight into the Russian group imprisoned for a protest at a Catholic church.

New to the beat

In "King & Maxwell" (9 p.m., TNT), Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn play ex-Secret Service agents who manage to solve rough cases and punch out bad guys, both without messing up their perfect hair. If you like TNT's other crime dramas, you'll be hooked.

Oliver's twist

No, Jon Stewart didn't just acquire a British accent. That's John Oliver behind the desk on "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" (10 p.m., Comedy). The show's longtime correspondent is filling in for eight weeks while Stewart is off directing a movie. Seth Rogen guests.
