GOOD TROUBLE - "DTLA" - After moving to The Coterie in Downtown Los Angeles, Callie and Mariana realize that living on their own is not all that it’s cracked up to be. Faced with new neighbors, new challenges and, of course, new romances, the sisters must depend on one another to navigate the City of Angels. "Good Trouble" premieres Tuesday, January 8 on Freeform. Leaving the nest

The daughters from "The Fosters" may have learned a few lessons from their adoptive parents, but not enough to keep them out of "Good Trouble." Maia Mitchell and Cierra Ramirez return in this well-intentioned spinoff that finds them fending for themselves in the rattrap commune located in a part of Los Angeles the Kardashians have never stepped foot in. The producers, which include the show's stars and Jennifer Lopez, deserve credit for packing the soap with diversity.

I want to believe

It's time to give up on another disappointing reboot of "The X Files" and turn the page to "Project Blue Book." This new series, based on the real-life probing of UFOs by Allen Hynek, may not be as ambitious as the never-say-die Fox drama, but it's got a pair of intriguing performances by Aiden Gillen and Michael Malarkey.

Choppy waters

"USS Indianapolis: The Final Chapter" offers a well-taught course on the history of the doomed ship that was sunk by a Japanese sub shortly after delivering the atomic bomb that would destroy Hiroshima. But the dramatic lesson, narrated by Kyle Chandler, keeps getting veered off course by reports from a modern-day expedition team determined to locate the remains of the cruiser.
