Torture chamber

Ellen DeGeneres appears to be having a grand time hosting "Ellen's Game of Games" — perhaps too good a time. Her maniacal grin as she tortures exuberant contestants is more devilish than a Steve Harvey eye roll, and not nearly as much fun. It'd be a little more acceptable if the cash prizes were steeper.

Economy class

Dylan McDermott gets a chance to show off his comedy chops in "LA to Vegas," a new sitcom about an airline crew sentenced to work the daily commute between Sin City and Los Angeles. The setup is a little forced — drama is the last thing you want during a flight — but McDermott is clearly having a ball as the cocky pilot, and so is his team — most notably former soap opera star Kim Matula, who probably has loftier roles on the horizon.

8 p.m., KMSP, Ch. 9

Friends and lovers

"Lovesick," which returns for its third season, continues to bill itself as a sitcom, even though you'd be hard pressed to find laughs in this British export. Still, you can't help but root for the characters, especially Dylan (Johnny Flynn) and Evie (Antonia Thomas) as they inch ever so closer to each other's arms.
