The terminator

Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn't born in the United States, which means he can't use hosting "Celebrity Apprentice" as a vehicle to help him become president. But a much-needed boost at the box office? Possibly. The former California governor has enough business savvy and charm to give this reboot a better chance than Martha Stewart did when she tried to step into Donald Trump's shoes. Lisa Leslie, Boy George and Eric Dickerson are among the contestants vying for the new boss' affections. Trump remains one of the show's executive producers.

Sugar, not spice

An upbeat Gordon Ramsay may be fine around the dinner table, but he's kind of a drag as a TV host. His gentler side is on full display in "MasterChef Celebrity Showdown," a bland entree in the Fox food franchise, pitting stars like Cheryl Hines and Kal Penn against each other as they boil and bake to raise money for charities. Ramsay himself dons an apron to cook alongside Anthony Anderson, but even working at close quarters with an amateur can't raise his ire.

Rise and shine

In "Beyond," a young man awakening from a 12-year coma must adjust to the modern-day world and the fact that the deep sleep granted him superpowers. Early episodes suffer from a lack of truly menacing villains, but the above-average dialogue and adorable cast, led by Burkely Duffield, will keep you engaged, at least until "Spider-Man: Homecoming" drops in July.
