Kitchen confidential

"Trisha's Southern Kitchen" finds country music star Trisha Yearwood preparing for an awards ceremony by whipping up a peanut butter and banana breakfast smoothie, followed later in the day by a chicken salad with homemade herb crackers. Based on what she pulled down last year for her world tour with hubby Garth Brooks, it's safe to assume that each meal in this new season is topped with beluga caviar. 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Food Network

Royal wedding

The second season of "Million Dollar American Princesses" opens with host Elizabeth McGovern looking at how showbiz royalty like Gloria Swanson and Grace Kelly made it official by marrying into nobility. Set your DVR for the Season 22 premiere, featuring the wedding of North West and Prince George. 7 p.m. Smithsonian Channel

My so-called life

One of the repercussions of the success of "Friends" is a seemingly endless stream of sitcoms attempting to further the stereotype that most twenty-somethings are already stuck in dead-end careers while still living with college roommates and crashing sorority parties. The latest copycat, "Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life," does little to stray from the tired formula with a cast that generates fewer laughs than Ross' monkey. 7:30 p.m. Sunday, KMSP, Ch. 9Neal Justin
