Ice, ice baby

Hard to believe that Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are no longer with us. But at least they left us some fun films, including 1993's "Grumpy Old Men" (7 p.m.) and 1995's "Grumpier Old Men" (9:30 p.m.). Check out their chemistry — as well as abundance of Minnesota landmarks that pop up throughout both movies. Ovation

A dog's life

With the success of Internet video festivals for cats, man's best friends have insisted on their own party. George Lopez hosts the inaugural "World Dog Awards" with Beth Behrs, Nikki Reed and Pauley Perrette helping crown the top dogs of the year. 7 p.m. WUCW, Ch. 23

The bird is the word

The Hollywood elite, a whole other kind of animal, also are getting groomed — for "The Critics' Choice Movie Awards." "Birdman" leads the way with 13 nominations. Kevin Costner, Ron Howard and Jessica Chastain will all receive special honors. 8 p.m. A&E
