Games people play

Remember when "Survivor" (7 p.m. WCCO, Ch. 4) pretty much had the reality-competition landscape all to itself? The field may be a lot more crowded, but the series, now entering its 30th season, remains compelling stuff with just the right amount of fiddling to its format. That's followed by the 26th season premiere of "The Amazing Race." (8:30 p.m. WCCO, Ch. 4)

Going ape

Ecologist Chris Morgan heads to the jungles of northern Sumatra to see what's being done to save Asia's most intelligent apes in "The Last Orangutan Eden," a new documentary that's part of the "Nature" series. 7 p.m. TPT, Ch. 2

Opposites attract

The new reality-based series "Kosher Soul" looks at how Jewish fashion stylist Miriam Sternoff and African-American comedian O'Neal McKnight handle their cultural differences as they prepare for their wedding. If the show doesn't fly, at least they have a great name for a cutting-edge restaurant. 9 p.m. Lifetime
