Apron strings

Sonia Braga plays "Meddling Mom" (7 p.m. Saturday, Hallmark Movie Channel), a character who can't stop sticking her nose into her two daughters' business. Tony Plana plays a ballroom dance teacher who wishes Braga would spend more time interfering in his affairs.

Who'll stop the rain?

If the meteorites don't get us, then plasma rain almost certainly will. That's the premise of "End of the World" (8 p.m. Saturday, Syfy), a new movie in which the planet lies in the hands of two sci-fi boys who work in a video store. Don't worry; we know this is all fiction. wI mean, who still works in a video store?

Kiss and tell

TV shows often tease audiences with girl-on-girl lip action, so why should "Joan & Melissa" (8 p.m. Saturday, WE) be any different? In this Season 3 premiere, Joan Rivers makes out with a Bohemian hottie, which should at least guarantee the show a .00004 jump in the ratings.
