Paperless society

"David Brent: Life on the Road" may end up feeling like Ricky Gervais has gone back to "The Office" one too many times, but I doubt it. The creator of the greatest sitcom of all time has revisited the character several times, always to great comic effect. This premise, in which the former sales rep continues his rock 'n' roll ambitions, seems promising. Coldplay's Chris Martin lent a hand on some of the songs.

A call to arms

History buff Paul Shull slips back into his drill-sergeant persona as host of "The Weapon Hunter," a series that doesn't shy away from its love for deadly machinery. In the Season 2 premiere, Shull gets worked up about reconstructing the kind of "gun truck" used to supply convoys for U.S. troops during the Vietnam War.

A good walk spoiled

Like more than a few fed-up viewers, I stopped watching "The Walking Dead" shortly after Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) started swinging his bat, but cable's No. 1 drama still has enough devoted followers to make its midseason return an event. Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his ragtag team are prepping for war against their most daunting enemy to date. Chances of peace talks seem slim.
