A little bit more

If seeing the latest version of "The Grinch" in theaters didn't fully feed your inner Scrooge, revisit the 1966 TV cartoon "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" with Boris Karloff as the voice of the title character. That's immediately followed by Ron Howard's 2000 take starring Jim Carrey.

7 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11

Christmas call

PBS isn't offering a Christmas episode of "Sherlock" or "Doctor Who" this season, but you will find a new chapter of "Call the Midwife," a 90-minute special that will introduce a new character played by "Harry Potter" veteran Miriam Margolyes. The full eighth season will air next year.

8 p.m., TPT, Ch. 2

Harlem nights

Long before "La La Land" and "The Greatest Showman," Francis Ford Coppola tried to reignite interest in the movie musical with "The Cotton Club." The film bombed when it premiered in 1984, but it's well worth checking out, especially if you like the idea of "The Godfather" with tap dancing.
