His future's so bright

"Men in Black" (6 p.m. Saturday, TV Land) proved that Will Smith was indeed big box office, could hold his own opposite an Oscar-winning co-star (Tommy Lee Jones) and could sell sunglasses — sales of Ray-Ban Predator 2's tripled after this 1997 movie took off.

MVP = Minnesota Viking Peterson

The big news is that Adrian "MVP" Peterson will finally play in the preseason. Of course, he and the Vikings are going up against the defending NFC champs in the San Francisco 49ers (7 p.m. Sunday, NBC, Ch. 11). When the game gets slow, look for a sideline report on SF QB Colin Kaepernick's newest tattoos.

Your VMA vote

What excites you most about the "2013 MTV Video Music Awards" (8 p.m. Sunday, MTV)? Lady Gaga opening the show, Katy Perry closing the show, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis having tied Justin Timberlake for the most nominations, Kanye West's record-tying seventh performance on the VMAs, or the reunion appearance by 'N Sync?
