Snap to it

"Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel," the newsmagazine show that goes beyond the Xs and Os, features pro skateboarder Rob Dyrdek; NFLer Nick Schuyler, who survived a terrible boat accident, and long snapper Jon Dorenbos, who moonlights as a magician. Now if only he could use some sorcery to help his Philadelphia Eagles. 8 p.m. HBO

It's all about soul

Golden Globe winner Idris Elba ("Luther," "The Wire") goes behind the lens to direct "K. Michelle: Rebellious Soul — the Musical," a look at the "Love & Hip Hop" star's latest collection of ballads that center on trying to break the cycle of bad romance. The musical features nine songs from Michelle's new album. 9 p.m. VH1

Do you believe in magic?

Eden Prairie's Justin Flom has done a nice job co-creating "Wizard Wars," an engaging new series that just as easily could have been called "Iron Magicians." That's because competitors are given three or four common objects and assigned to build acts around them. Penn & Teller are among the celebrity judges. 9 p.m. Syfy
