Something special

"There She Goes" could have easily been another series about parents going to heroic efforts to raise an adorable child with special challenges, but this moving dramedy is brimming with anger from mom (Jessica Hynes) and dad (David Tennant), who use booze and heated exchanges to deal with their frustrations. Creator Shaun Pye based the series on his own family's experience; his insight makes this one of TV's most riveting, and honest, new sitcoms.

The one where Joey races

Now in his fourth season as co-host of "Top Gear," Matt LeBlanc looks much more comfortable racing cars than trying to pour fuel into the sputtering sitcom "Man With a Plan." In the new season premiere for "Top Gear," the former "Friends" star gets off his fair share of sharp one-liners while competing against Chris Harris on Norway's winding Trollstigen road.

Snapping to it

The sketch comedy series "I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson" largely consists of the "Detroiters" star playing seemingly normal dudes who overact to the slightest incidents, including a whoopee-cushion prank at a business meeting and a birthday boy not fully appreciating his gift. "SNL" veterans Cecily Strong, Will Forte and Vanessa Bayer also get opportunities to blow their tops.
