MODERN FAMILY - "Australia" - The entire family tags along as Phil fulfills his mom's wish for him to return to his roots and visit the country where he was conceived, Australia. Unfortunately, Phil's attempts to embrace his native land are met by a lot of rejection, while Jay and Claire let work eat into vacation time, and Mitch and Cam get reacquainted with an old friend (guest star Rhys Darby) they can't stand but is now a big-time celebrity in Australia, on "Modern Family," WEDNESDAY, APRIL

Ryan's hope

My suspicion that Ryan Seacrest clones walk the Earth much like they do on "Orphan Black" may be confirmed in "Best Moments: On Air With Ryan Seacrest," a new special that captures his most memorable interviews and takes us behind the curtain of his popular radio show. 7 p.m. E!

Monkey business

Liam Neeson narrates "Snow Monkeys," a "Nature" installment that takes us to the Japanese Alps, where a group of primates handle the bitter cold even better than an Iron Range veteran. 7 p.m. TPT, Ch. 2

G'day, mate!

Must be nice to be a cast member of "Modern Family" — and not just for the generous salaries. So far, the show has traveled to Las Vegas, Disneyland, Jackson Hole and Hawaii. Now the gang can add Australia to its docket as Phil goes in search of family roots and Gloria struggles to ask natives to put another shrimp on the barbie. 8 p.m. KSTP, Ch. 5.
