Road trip

The Romans of 146 B.C. were some scary dudes. "Secrets of the Dead: Carthage's Lost Warriors" explores the theory that when they conquered the vast Carthaginian Empire in North Africa, thousands of people were so scared they took refuge in faraway South America. It's a fair assumption that Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, wasn't yet in full swing. 9 p.m., TPT, Ch. 2

Movie set

Larger-than-life collector Richie Marcello's goal to secure some of the rarest Hollywood memorabilia is chronicled in "Treasure King." Among the items: R2D2 from "Star Wars," General Lee from "Dukes of Hazzard" and Molly Ringwald's underpants from "Sixteen Candles." 9 p.m., Reelz

Tanks a lot

For those with short attention spans, check out "TripTank," a new series featuring fast-paced, hard-hitting animated shorts with voice contributions from Dave Attell, Vanessa Bayer, Wayne Brady, Paul Reiser and Minnesota's own Nick Swardson. 9:30 p.m., Comedy Central
