Fright night

"Riverdale" may boast the most photogenic cast in TV, but when it comes to song and dance, it's not quite ready for close-ups. Injecting numbers from "Carrie: The Musical" into an episode might have seemed like an ingenious idea, but the young actors aren't quite up to the task, relying more on sexy bends than jazz bands. It doesn't help that the tunes probably don't even a ring a bell with Stephen King.

7 p.m., WUCW, Ch. 23

Weather watcher

The latest episode of "Nova" is called "Decoding the Weather Machine," but it may as well have been titled "Paul Douglas' Big Adventure." The WCCO meteorologist and Star Tribune columnist is front and center throughout the film, explaining how he went from climate-change skeptic to true believer.

7 p.m., TPT, Ch. 2

Anything goes

Michael Curtiz more than earned his place as TCM's Artist of the Month with his versatility behind the camera. This week's tribute kicks off with "Casablanca," followed by "Mildred Pierce" and "Yankee Doodle Dandy."
