Laughing it up

Stand-up comics don't usually get much respect for their acting chops. That changes in a new episode of "Pioneers of Television" that features such comedians as Bob Newhart, Ray Romano, Jimmie Walker and Bill Cosby talking about their craft. 7 p.m. TPT, Ch. 2

Professor Lincoln

It's natural to assume that a Ken Burns project called "The Address" would be a 12-hour affair with Tom Hanks reading letters Abe Lincoln wrote to his wife about the most important speech of his career. Instead, the documentary is a one-night, low-key affair about a Vermont school for students who overcome learning challenges by memorizing the Gettysburg Address and performing it in public. 8 p.m. TPT, Ch. 2

Strike a pose

You've read the issue 100 times. Now see the movie. "SI: The Making of Swimsuit 2014: From Sand to Space" takes viewers behind the scenes of events like model Kate Upton's zero-gravity shoot at Cape Canaveral. Stunned that this isn't airing on "60 Minutes." 8 p.m. Travel
