Conlin powers Mustangs

GIRLS' SOCCER

• MOUNDS VIEW 1, EAST RIDGE 0: Defender Elle Conlin scored her first varsity goal while the solid defensive play of midfielder Shania Fleming helped that goal stand up as the game-winner in Mounds View's win over East Ridge.

The victory gives the Mustangs (8-0-1, 3-0-0), ranked No. 2 in the most recent Class 2A coaches' poll, sole possession of first place in the Suburban East Conference. The Raptors (4-3-3, 2-1-1) are third in the league.

"I think everyone knew we were the conference favorite going in," Mounds View coach Terri Patraw said after the game. "But I'd say East Ridge was right with us."

• VISITATION 3, ST. CROIX LUTHERAN 1: Maggie Conners scored two goals to lift Visitation past St. Croix Lutheran at Visitation High School. Samantha Burke stopped nine shots to preserve the victory.

• PARK OF COTTAGE GROVE 3, CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 0: Mariah Troje scored two goals to lift Park of Cottage Grove past Cretin-Derham Hall 3-0 at Wolfpack Stadium. The Wolfpack defense held the Raiders to three shots on goal for the shutout.

• WHITE BEAR LAKE 4, WOODBURY 0: Kaylee Peterson stopped six shots to record her first shutout of the season to lift the Bears past the Royals.

• HILL-MURRAY 1, PRINCETON 0: Ella French broke a scoreless tie to give Hill-Murray the victory over Princeton at Hill-Murray Stadium.

• BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 3, BRECK 0: The Red Knights got three first-half goals from three different players to defeat the Mustangs.

BOYS' SOCCER

• EAST RIDGE 1, MOUNDS VIEW 0: Grant Tostenrud broke a scoreless tie to lift the Class 2A, No. 7-ranked Raptors past the Class 2A, No. 3-ranked Mustangs.

• EDEN PRAIRIE 2, HOLY FAMILY 1: Sean Kurtenbach scored two goals to lead the Eagles past the Fire.

• NOVA CLASSICAL 9, CALVIN CHRISTIAN 2: Dominic Bumgarner and Sam Lee scored four goals each to lift the Knights past the Cougars.
