No. 6 Benilde opens season by shutting out Lourdes

• BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 6, ROCHESTER LOURDES 0: Chase Jungels and Spencer Naas each had a goal and two assists to lead the Red Knights, ranked No. 6 in Class 2A, to the season-opening victory over the Eagles, ranked No. 10 in Class 1A. Red Knights goaltender Jalen Long had 17 saves in the shutout.

• DULUTH EAST 3, CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI 2 (OT): The Greyhounds scored twice in the final three minutes of regulation to force overtime and then completed the come-from-behind victory on Brian Bunten's overtime goal. He scored with 2:18 left in the third period before Phil Beaulieu scored with one minute remaining to tie the score. The game-winner came at 5:26 of the overtime. The Greyhounds, ranked No. 9 in Class 2A, outshot the Bluejackets 52-21. Bluejackets goaltender Jacob Sibell had 49 saves.

• BURNSVILLE 10, ROSEMOUNT 1: Petr Havlug, Eric Otto and Anthony Rikberg each scored two goals as the Blaze, ranked No. 10 in Class 2A, skated past the Irish.

• EDEN PRAIRIE 6, OSSEO 0: Riley Argetsinger scored three goals and Jake Gerdes had 18 saves to lead the Eagles, ranked No. 5 in Class 2A, past the Orioles.

• EDINA 6, CENTENNIAL 1: Cullen Munson scored three goals to lead the Hornets, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, past the Cougars. Five other players had two points each for the defending Class 2A state champion Hornets (3-0).

Apple Valley opens fast with victory over Edina

• APPLE VALLEY 85, EDINA 55: Tyus Jones had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists to pace the Eagles' balanced effort. Four other players scored in double figures for the defending Class 4A state champions in their first game.

• HOPKINS 106, BLOOMINGTON KENNEDY 67: Sophomore Amir Coffey scored 24 points and the Royals pulled away in the second half for the victory. Dejon Davis scored 31 to lead the Eagles.

• HILL-MURRAY 71, HOLY ANGELS 63: Eric Weimar scored 21 points and Marshaun Wilson added 20 to lead the Pioneers past the Stars. Charlie Koontz scored 20 and Taylor BonGiovanni 19 for the Stars.

• MAPLE GROVE 67, BUFFALO 65: Freshman Brad Davison scored 21 points to help the Crimson outlast the Bison. Senior Collin Olmscheid scored 26 to lead the Bison.

• MARANATHA CHRISTIAN 87, MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST 80: Jeremiah Hanson scored 32 points and Cameron Hanson 22 as the Mustangs, the Class 1A runners-up last season, rallied from a four-point halftime deficit.

• MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH 84, BRECK 64: Kenley Farrow had 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists to lead the Tigers to the victory.

• MINNETONKA 90, BURNSVILLE 51: The Skippers made 14 three-point baskets en route to the victory. Justin Moes, who had 19 points, and Stuart Maes each made five three-pointers.

• MOUNDS VIEW 85, SPRING LAKE PARK 63: Ryan Kaczynski scored 28 points to lead the Mustangs over the Panthers.

• ROSEVILLE 91, ST. LOUIS PARK 43: Juniors Jesper Horsted scored 22 points and Kyler Briggity 21 to fuel the Raiders' victory over the Orioles.

• ST. AGNES 73, NOVA CLASSICAL 63: Senior Nick Turch scored 28 points to lead the Aggies to victory.

• ST. PAUL CENTRAL 52, MINNEAPOLIS NORTH 51: Sophomore Sam Gubbrud made two free throws with six seconds left to lift the Minutemen to the victory.

• ST. PAUL JOHNSON 88, STILLWATER 73: Pierre Conwell had 23 points, Louis Williams 22 and Jalen Mobley 20 as the Governors beat the Ponies.

• ST. THOMAS ACADEMY 72, ST. CROIX LUTHERAN 51: Senior Jalen Patterson was 9-of-12 from the field and scored 22 points to lead the Cadets to the victory.

• WHITE BEAR LAKE 68, CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI 64: Tanner Hinck scored 18 of his 27 points in the second half to help the Bears rally from a four-point halftime deficit.

• WOODBURY 81, SHAKOPEE 70: Matt Ambriz made six three-point shots and scored 34 points to pace the Royals' victory.
