Cody Moline beat Alex Laven 1:48 into overtime on the power play to give North Branch a 3-2 victory over host Pine City in boys' hockey Tuesday night.
The Vikings killed off a 5-on-3 disadvantage to open the extra session but got a power play of their own immediately after. Moline took advantage of the extra space off a drop pass off the boards and walked to the middle before firing a wrist shot from the high slot into the net.
The senior forward assisted on the game-tying goal by Jacob Richards 4 minutes, 1 second into the third period. Brady Meyer also assisted on the goal. Meyer got the Vikings on the board first 13:18 into the game.
Jordan Stich scored two goals for the Dragons in the second period.
Trevor Mellen stopped 43 shots for the Vikings, including 21 in the second period, and Laven had 22 saves for the Dragons.

Duluth East 5, Centennial 3: Ian Mageau broke a 3-3 tie with 4:51 left in the third period to give the Class 2A, No. 3 Greyhounds the victory over the visiting Class 2A, No. 5 Cougars. He later added an empty-net goal to seal the victory and had an assist earlier in the game. Lucas McGregor scored his third goal of the game to tie the score at 3-3 with 5:49 left in the third period. Frederick Hunter Paine had a goal and two assists, Will Fisher had a goal and an assist and Ricky Lyle scored a goal for the Greyhounds. Travis Allen stopped 38 shots and Hayden Brickner had two assists for the Cougars.
Maple Grove 5, Elk River 4: The visiting Crimson scored three goals in the third period to upset the host Class 2A, No. 11 Elks. Trevor Kukkonen recorded a hat trick to lead the Crimson. Tyler Borsch had a goal and an assist and Tyler Kostelecky had a goal for the Crimson. Griffin Young led the Eagles with two goals and one assist. Tommy Laabs had a goal and an assist, Zach Michaelis had two assists and Austen Humphrey scored for the Elks. Ethan Haider stopped 30 shots.
