Chisago Lakes edges Cambridge-Isanti

CLASS 5A

• Section 7: Joe Virga's 5-yard TD run with 35 seconds remaining lifted Chisago Lakes to a 42-35 victory over Cambridge-Isanti. Cambridge-Isanti had tied the score with 3:35 remaining on a 5-yard TD run by John Solberg. Chisago Lakes led 28-7 late in the first half before Solberg scored on a 79-yard run. Solberg rushed for 237 yards and four TDs and passed for 98 yards. Joseph Kimlinger rushed for 121 yards and three TDs, and Virga, who went over 1,000 yards on the season, rushed for 121 yards and two TDs … Blake Moreno caught two TD passes and Max Greene rushed for 108 yards and a TD to lead St. Francis past Duluth East, 56-6.

• Section 2: Justin Arnold rushed for a TD, threw a TD pass and made a key interception to spark Chaska to a 23-7 victory over Waconia. Arnold's interception at the Chaska 2-yard line with 18 seconds left in the first half helped the Hawks maintain a 10-0 lead.

• Section 3: Matt Morse scored three TDs and Mario Lewis scored two TDs in the first half to spark Apple Valley to a 48-20 victory over Minneapolis Washburn. Morse's third TD gave the Eagles a 41-0 lead. ... Trenton Stafford rushed for 282 yards and four TDs and caught three TD passes to fuel St. Louis Park's 74-41 victory over Bloomington Kennedy.

• Section 5: Michael Busch rushed for two scores and threw two TD passes to pace Simley to a 52-8 victory over Tartan. … Keith Mikel's 18-yard fumble return for a TD helped Hastings outlast Henry Sibley 20-14. Mikel's TD in the final minute of the third quarter gave Hastings a 20-7 lead.

• Section 6: Gunnar Bloom, Blayne Kasper and Adam Hayer each scored two touchdowns in the first half to fuel Rogers' 63-0 victory over Willmar. The Royals, who rushed for 363 yards, led 49-0 at halftime. … Ryder Beckman rushed for 164 yards and Lowell Laudert rushed for 136 yards and two TDs to help Monticello grind out a 30-7 victory over Buffalo. The Magic rushed for a school-record 433 yards.

CLASS 4A

• Section 1: Tait Kelly threw six TD passes and ran for a TD to lead Red Wing to a 62-40 victory over Winona.

• Section 3: Junior Christian Frost rushed for 305 yards (in 40 carries) and two touchdowns to lead Richfield to its first victory of the season — 28-13 over Minneapolis South.

• Section 4: Jalen Mobley's 8-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter — his third touchdown of the game — broke a 28-28 tie and helped St. Paul Johnson outlast New Life Academy 34-28. Seth Rice ran for three TDs for New Life.

• Section 7: Wyatt Dahlheimer rushed for four TDs and Cody Schuelke ran for two to lead Princeton past Duluth Denfeld, 48-24.

CLASS 3A

• Section 1: Aaron Chimal ran for two TDs,– including a 69-yard TD in the final 10 seconds of the first half, to spark Tri-City United to a 30-14 victory over Cannon Falls.

• Section 2: Teddy Anderson rushed for 170 yards and a TD and Keaton Anderson rushed for 168 yards and two TDs to lead Glencoe-Silver Lake to a 35-0 victory over Rockford. … Peter Lillehaug threw three TD passes and ran for a TD to lead Breck to a 39-20 victory over Minneapolis Henry.

• Section 3: Luke Narveson passed for 155 yards and a TD and rushed for 112 yards and a TD to help Belle Plaine hold off Sibley East, 28-26.

• Section 6: Zack Pierskalla rushed for 220 yards and two TDs to lead Melrose to a 32-22 victory over Litchfield.

CLASS 2A

• Section 4: Dylan Kosek rushed for 167 yards and two TDs and Cole Gagnon threw three TD passes as Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted built a 55-6 lead en route to a 55-30 victory over Spectrum.

CLASS 1A

• Section 4: Tyler Johnson rushed for 112 yards and two TDs and threw a TD pass and Keyon Thomas scored two TDs to lead top-seeded Minneapolis North to a 33-0 victory over Kimball. Jamir Jackson returned a fumble 30 yards for a TD for the Polars.
