The skinny: This likely is the final collegiate game for Aggies QB Johnny Manziel, who won the Heisman Trophy as a freshman in 2012 and finished fifth this season and could decide to enter the NFL draft. "Johnny Football'' passed for 311 yards per game while completing 69.1 percent of his passes, leading the Southeastern Conference in each category. He has the top two total offense season totals in SEC history, including 4,481 this year. … Duke, playing in bowl games in back-to-back seasons for the first time, is looking for its first bowl victory since 1961.

Liberty Bowl

Rice (10-3) vs. Mississippi State (6-6)

Where: Memphis, Tenn.

Time, TV: 3 p.m., ESPN

The skinny: Rice is seeking its first 11-win season in school history and is attempting to win bowl games in back-to-back years for the first time. The Owls beat Air Force 33-14 in last year's Armed Forces Bowl. Mississippi State is attempting to clinch a fourth consecutive winning season. … Keep an eye on Bulldogs WR Jameon Lewis, who is the only FBS player with at least five touchdown catches, three TD runs and three TD passes this season. All three of his passes have produced touchdowns.

SUN BOWL

Virginia Tech (8-4) vs. No. 17 UCLA (9-3)

Where: El Paso, Texas

The skinny: UCLA is seeking its first 10-win season since the 2005 campaign and hasn't won a bowl game since the 2009 season. Virginia Tech never has won a game against a Pac-12 team (0-3).

Advocare V100 Bowl

Arizona (7-5) vs. Boston College (7-5)

Where: Shreveport, La.

Time, TV: 11:30 a.m., ESPN

The skinny: The game features two of the premier running backs in the country — Arizona's Ka'Deem Carey and Boston College's Andre Williams. Both were named first-team AP All-Americas while Williams edged Carey for the Doak Walker Award. Williams has rushed for 2,102 yards this season while Carey has 1,716.
