The monsoon low will track over very warm water, and is set to develop into atropical cyclone by early next week.

This most recent tropical development could be the fourth named system of thetropical season in the Indian Ocean.

The region continues to clean up from last week's Tropical Cyclone Phet, whichinundated the region with heavy rain of over a foot and killed several peoplein Oman, northwestern India, and southern Pakistan. Thousands of people arestill displaced from their homes.

This low pressure system is good news for India, which relies on monsoonrainfall for agriculture and irrigation.
