On Sunday, Tropical Depression 19W formed in the western Pacific Ocean. Thestorm is located about 375 miles to the east of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.Sustained winds are currently estimated at 30 mph with gusts to near 40 mph.
The storm is expected to take a west to northwest track over the next severaldays which would result in a landfall across southeast Vietnam on Tuesday localtime.
Although this system is unlikely to gain tropical storm strength, it will bringlocally heavy rainfall to a region that has suffered from flooding problemsover the past several months. This will lead to the potential for morewidespread flooding and mudslides.
