Indications are that this area will shift west to the Andaman Sea during thenext few days. Consolidation into a tropical depression and even a tropicalcyclone could happen by the end of the week in the area of the Andaman andNicobar islands. Movement would then be westward to the open Bay of Bengal.

Any direct cyclone strike upon the east coast of India would not happen untilearly to middle next week. At this time, flooding rain and damaging winds couldresult.
