Grayson Ahrenholz, Clara City • 41½-inch northern • Lake Savant (Ontario)

Eleven-year old Grayson Ahrenholz caught this northern on Lake Savant in Ontario (230 miles northwest of Thunder Bay) while waiting for shore lunch to get cooked. Last year, while waiting for shore lunch on the same island, he caught a 36.5-inch northern.

Doubling up

Paige Renard, of Orono, caught two smallmouth bass at once with a whopper plopper from her kayak on the Mississippi River near Clearwater. The larger of the two was 20 inches.

Personal-best

Eleven-year old Mark Anthony Gonzales III, of Minnetonka, caught this personal-best 3.3-pound largemouth bass using a bladed jig at Grays Bay Marina on Lake Minnetonka.
