Today’s trophy tales
Bill Ferrell, Minnetrista • 51½-inch muskie • Lake Minnetonka
Mike Ferrell, above left, helped his uncle Bill Ferrell display his catch. Bill Ferrell caught the fish July 4th, a week after having a pacemaker put in.
10-year old Michael Offord, of Coon Rapids, caught this 27-inch walleye on Borden Lake (near Garrison) last week. He kept reeling until his grandfather, Brad Miller, of Maple Grove, was able to net it.
First cast, first pike
Fishing for bass from her family’s dock on Lake Minnetonka, Brooke Batker caught her first northern (about 25 inches) on her first cast using a lightweight rod with a texas-rig plastic worm.
