Nick Onomiya, 10, of Big Lake, Minn., caught an 18 1/2-inch black crappie in a northwest metro lake. "My Dad and I always start our fishing day trying to find the crappies in our lake," Onomiya said. "If we cannot locate the crappies, we fish for northern and largemouth bass. "Fishing with fathead minnows, small jigs and slip bobbers, I put my line in the water as we anchored the pontoon boat. "The bobber went down - and the fish felt larger than our normal crappie - I thought it might be a small northern or largemouth bass. "I told Dad to grab the net, watched it surface, and it was HUGE. "Dad got nervous and barely got it into the boat before it fell off the hook! It's the largest crappie we have ever caught!"

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
