"OK, so does this walleye qualify me for bragging rights?" Asked Annabelle Ess, 83, after catching a 27½-inch walleye. "I caught it on Nelson Lake on the Cormorant chain while my husband, Kenny, and I were visiting my daughter and son-in-law. "Everything that could go wrong did! "It hit so hard I almost dropped the rod and then couldn't reel it in. "Kenny took the rod from me and he couldn't do it either because the reel broke. "Meanwhile, my daughter almost fell in the lake trying to keep tension at the rod tip. "The fish finally surfaced and she tried to net it, but the net was too small, so her husband struggled to get the larger net and we finally landed it! "It sure made our day!"
