Trial dates set for St. Paul gang rape suspects

Trial dates were set Wednesday for two defendants in a St. Paul gang rape case.

Mang Yang, 24, and Vang Tou Ger Vue, 19, appeared in Ramsey County District Court on Wednesday afternoon for omnibus hearings in connection with the attack.

A pretrial hearing was set for April 23 for Vue. His jury trial is scheduled for May 29.

Nine defendants, including four juveniles, are charged with plying a 14-year-old girl with alcohol, forcing her into a vacant house, holding her down and sexually assaulting her in November.

According to the complaint, the suspects are alleged members or associates of the True Bloods 22 gang.

Each defendant is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and crime committed for the benefit of a gang.

The other adult suspects have omnibus hearings this week and next.
