A farmer concerned for his cattle during stormy weather was fatally struck by a tree, Sibley County authorities said Wednesday.

Marvin Ziesmer, 62, was on a four-wheeler in the pasture of his farm about 4 miles north of Arlington and attempting to herd his cattle to safety during a storm early Tuesday evening. That's when a tree fell on him, the Sheriff's Office said.

Emergency responders found Ziesmer dead under the tree on the property off Hwy 15, roughly 30 miles west of Belle Plaine.
