You didn't really believe Trampled by Turtles was going to sit home the day its new album comes out, did you? The band has quietly booked a 7th Street Entry gig on Tuesday, April 10. Wristbands to the otherwise ticketless show will be given away at the Electric Fetus in Minneapolis to fans who buy "Stars and Satellites" that day at the store, or some more will be available to those who pre-order the record through www.TrampledbyTurtles.com.

Here are the specifics: The Fetus will open at 9 a.m. on April 10, and the first 150 people who buy the album there will get a wristband for that night's show. Another 50 wristbands will be given out first-come, first-served to fans with proof of purchase from the band's site. That's it. There's no other way to get into the gig. Even fans who buy more than one album at the Fetus will only be granted one wristband.

Of course, Trampled is already booked to perform one night later (April 11) in the First Ave main room, but tickets for that concert sold out quicker than you can yell, "Play another banjo solo!" Twin Cities fans will get another opportunity (a big one!) to see the band in town this summer, when its other array of gigs includes Bonnaroo and the Sasquatch and Newport Folk fests. One calendar highlight that's roadtrip-worthy to fans in our area is the June 15 stop at Big Top Chatauqua, a cool, old circus tent on a ski hill in Bayfield, Wis.
