Tragically Hip cancels (for non-tragic reasons)

Flu has spoiled the Canadians' Denver and St. Paul shows.

Tuesday's concert with the Tragically Hip at the O'Shaughnessy in St. Paul has unfortunately been canceled due to illness. The band's website says it's flu but doesn't specify if it's that kind of flu -- presumably not, since the site also says their tour will resume Friday. They also had to nix their Denver show. Looks like there's no chance of a makeup date soon, so refunds are being given at point of purchase.

I happen to catch the Hip in Austin a week ago tonight and they sounded as mighty as ever. I haven't been able to get "Wheat Kings" out of my head since then (part of an all-acoustic opening set that was goosebump-inducting). Here's hoping they come back our way soon as they can.
