Minnesota Department of Transportation crews are expected to finish work on the the inside lanes of eastbound I-694 from Hwy. 252 in Brooklyn Center to I-35W in New Brighton Wednesday. That means traffic will be shifted to those lanes so work on the outside lanes can begin.

Starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday, traffic will be moved to the inside lanes. On subsequent nights, traffic in both directions between Hwy. 100 and East River Road will be shifted to the inside lanes. When the switch happens, the following ramps will close:

  • East River Road to eastbound and westbound I-694
    • Access to and from Hwy. 252 and I-694

The ramp from westbound 694 to East River Road will remain open. All traffic changes will be completed by Saturday, weather permitting.

Lane restrictions in both directions will remain in place, with two lanes open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and one lane open p.m. and 6 a.m. daily.
