Best of the best: On Saturday, the top six players and best coach in the 75-year history of the tournament will be recognized during an on-ice ceremony before the Class 2A championship game at 7 p.m. They will receive a video tribute and wear commemorative jerseys. The Minnesota State High School League chose the winners.
Vannelli farewell: Longtime successful St. Thomas Academy boys' hockey co-coaches Greg and Tom Vannelli will step down after the tournament. Greg, 65, and Tom, 64, began coaching together at the school in 2003. Since then the Cadets have won five Class 1A state championships, 11 section and five conference titles.
Follow the action: Adult tickets are $19 for championship and $14 for consolation sessions. Student tickets are $12 for championship, $9 for consolation. All championship-round games will be televised on Ch. 45 and streamed live at Prep45.com free of charge. All consolation and third-place games will be streamed live at prepspotlight.tv for free.
