Dangerous thunderstorms will barrel eastward over the middle South through early morning Monday. Damaging winds, hail and flooding downpours will strike with many of these storms. And at least a few tornadoes will almost certainly happen, the highest threat being centered upon Louisiana and southwestern Mississippi.

Within the affected area will be the cities of Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana, and Jackson, Mississippi. To the north, Little Rock, Arkansas and Memphis, Tennessee, will have the risk of severe local weather.

During Monday, the site of the thunderstorm outbreak will shift eastward from the Mississippi River, reaching as far east as the southern Atlantic Seaboard.
