On Tuesday, the one-year anniversary of the tornado that struck north Minneapolis, the Northside Community Response Team will host an event that "will feature stories of recovery and restoration as well as highlight plans for future efforts in the area," according to a news release.
The team has been one of the main players in the tornado response and recovery. The group is encouraging tornado survivors to "bring items from the storm such as a house shingle, a photo or other remnant that will be used to construct a community memorial."
The event will feature speakers including team chair Louis King, elected officials and others. It starts Tuesday, May 22, at 4 p.m., at the University of Minnesota Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center (UROC), 2001 Plymouth Avenue North
Also, take a look on how the path of the tornado is visible from space, thanks to Google Earth. It looks to me as if someone took an eraser and lightly rubbed out the green.
