You might have noticed Stacia Rice's absence from the stage — any stage for the past year and a half. Rice says she will return from her stay-at-home mom routine in January with Torch Theater's production of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses," the romantic tangle written by Christopher Hampton.

Ivey winner Craig Johnson is on tap to direct and the cast includes Linda Kelsey, John Middleton, Mo Perry and Katharine Moeller.

The production will run Jan. 13-Feb. 4 at the Theatre Garage in Minneapolis.

Besides Rice's return to the stage, the production raises curiosity about Hampton's three-play festival at the Guthrie in fall, 2012. "Liaisons" is Hampton's most visible play, so might the Guthrie bring it back at that time?

Johnson won his Ivey for "Street Scene" last summer at the Theatre Garage. His "Dancing at Lughnasa" for Torch two years ago was the best use of the Garage space I've ever seen.
