Space oddity

D.A. Pennebaker, who so brilliantly captured the many sides of Bob Dylan in "Don't Look Back," falls short in comparison with "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars," largely because of a lack of backstage access. But David Bowie fans will treasure the concert footage, especially now that the sound from the 1973 performances has been enhanced.

The landlord

"Spin City" veteran Richard Kind, who took to the Guthrie stage in 2001 for "Once in a Lifetime," plays curator with a slate of familiar but reliable titles, starting with 1960's "The Apartment," a nearly perfect blend of comedy and drama. Stick around for "Soldier in the Rain," "M*A*S*H" and "Lawrence of Arabia," which should end right about the time you start getting ready for work.

Her heart will go on

I can't quite figure out what Katherine Heigl, who left "Grey's Anatomy" to become a rom-com queen, is doing back in scrubs. Did "Knocked Up Again" not get the green light? Oh, wait. That's Melissa George, not Heigl, doing her best to slip out of a love triangle in "Heartbeat" while dissecting surgeries straight out of a Ripley's Believe It or Not exhibit. Like George's role, you've seen this all before.

Sneak preview 8 p.m. KARE, Ch. 11. 7 p.m. Wednesdays is its regular time slot
