Priority, if elected: Working people need to come together as a class to fight for a massive public works program and a big raise in the minimum wage, as fast-food workers across the country have been demanding. We need to demonstrate solidarity too. The Socialist Workers campaign joined protests against the police killing of Terrance Franklin, and stands for defense of women's right to abortion. We oppose attacks on immigrant workers, and support workers and farmers in Syria fighting for political space and to get the Assad dictatorship off their back. Our campaign unconditionally opposes the threat of U.S. government intervention in Syria.
Ideas for job/population growth: The Socialist Workers candidates stand for a big raise in the minimum wage and a massive public works program. The fight for this will help unify workers.
Ideas to reduce crime: The Socialist Workers campaign defends the interests of working people, advances a program of action including defense of workers' democratic rights, and against police brutality.
Ideas to lower property taxes: The working class needs to break with the capitalist parties -- the Democrats, the Republicans, and the Greens -- and form its own party to advance our interests.
Did you support or oppose the Minnesota Vikings stadium package, approved by the city in May 2012? Oppose. To create jobs my campaign calls for a massive program of public works that working people need, such as rebuilding bridges, schools, and hospitals.
Should the city build a $200 million streetcar line along Nicollet and Central Avenues? No.
Should the mayor be allowed to appoint some school board members? No.
