St. Thomas named Hoyt Lakes, Minn., native Jennifer Bagley Trotter as the Tommies' first Division I softball coach on Monday.
Trotter went 676-404 at Division II Missouri Western State over 20 years, with NCAA regional appearances in 11 of the past 16 full seasons.
Trotter graduated from Minnesota State Moorhead in 1996. She replaces John Tschida, who decided to remain as a Division III coach, returning to St. Mary's, his alma mater.
