Tom Stinson, rock star?

The state's economist is not the Replacements' bassist, but the Wall Street Journal features them both.

State Economist Tom Stinson may be a rock star to policy wonks at the Capitol (and largely unknown outside that small circle), but it took the Wall Street Journal to link him to a real (onetime) rock star

A column published Thursday examined the fact that Tom Stinson (the economist) is NOT Tommy Stinson (the former bassist for the Replacments).

Stinson (the economist) recounts getting middle-of-the-night phone calls from "people who had been heavily indulging in recreational chemicals and they were wanting to talk to 'the greatest bass player in the world,' " Stinson told the Journal.

A publicist for Stinson (the rock star) said he was "too busy" to respond to the piece.

The whole thing (pretty funny) can be read here.
