The little boy who drowned this weekend in a Stillwater swimming pool has been identified as Elliot Barbier.

His nickname was "Moose."

The 2-year-old was the son of Anthony and Kristin Barbier, and he had three siblings, according to Simonet Funeral Home, which is handling funeral arrangements.

About 1 p.m. Saturday, Stillwater police received a report about a child drowning in a back-yard pool. The toddler was taken to United Hospital in St. Paul, where he was pronounced dead at 2:30 p.m.

Police, who are investigating, could not be reached to comment on Monday.

A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 611 S. 3rd St., Stillwater. Visitation will be two hours before the mass at the church atrium; interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Bayport.

A memorial fund has been set up in Elliot's name at Lake Elmo Bank, 1937 Greeley St. N., Stillwater, MN 55082.
