Today's trophy tales

Charles Mack, Hopkins • 54-inch muskie • Lake Minnetonka

On his first fishing outing of the season, Mack, above, caught this 42-pound muskie from shore near Lord Fletcher's in Spring Park. Using a sucker minnow as bait, it took 10 minutes to land the fish, which he released. Moments later he caught a 4-pound northern pike, which he thinks the muskie was stalking.

Keep a secret?

Quinn Wesley, 8, of Mound caught his 25-inch walleye at his "secret" spot on Lake Minnetonka, He caught it in 9 feet with a leech and a jig. After his father netted it, it was released.

Terrific trout
