Today's Big Deal: A not-so-small (3,824 square-foot) house designed by Not-So-Big author/architect and former Twin Citian, Sarah Susanka, recently sold for $2.1 million. The listing agent was Debbie McNally of Lakes Sotheby's International Realty and the asking price was $2.275 million.

What's notable? In its Uptown neighborhood the house is something of a landmark — it's on Kenilworth Place between Kenilworth Lagoon and Lake Calhoun, and was built in 1994 in an area of early 20th century houses. It has lots of Susanka trademarks, including strong rectilinear lines, corner windows and horizontal banding, and has strong Prairie-school influences. Inside it's decked out with its own wine cellar, spa, sauna and there's another 2,000 square feet of unfinished space in the basement.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
