Today at the Capitol

Sound bites and meetings.

May 6, 2011 at 2:26PM

Friday will be a day of dueling sound bites at the Capitol, as legislative headers hold their weekly spin sessions, followed by a presser by Gov. Mark Dayton that's specifically aimed at discussing the state's budget.

A conference committee is working its way through the health and human services bill, one of the biggest chunks of the budget, while, separately, a House committee, takes a look at the redistrictingplan. In the Senate, committees are weighing the constitutional amendment that would ban same-sex marriage and a proposal that would expand the ability of Minnesotans to use deadly force to defend themselves.
