Scaffolding has gone up underneath the Guthrie Theater's Endless Bridge, though it won't affect high school graduates and romantic couples planning to use the scenic spot for photo ops.

"We are open for business." a Guthrie spokesperson said.

The Jean Nouvel-designed 178-foot-long cantilever, which juts across W. River Parkway toward the Mississippi River, is undergoing some basic maintenance work, said Dan Soltys, the theater's director of facilities.

Some condensation was discovered under the bridge that needs mitigation and some rusty metal panels will be cleaned or replaced. There are no issues concerning safety or usability.

The work is scheduled to be completed by July 1, just in time for the fireworks show on the Mississippi.
