Tips: heated bird bath

February 26, 2015 at 9:40PM

1 When placing a heated bird bath, use only outdoor-rated extension cords.

2 Frost and snow will gather along the rim of your heated bird bath. Simply brush the snow and ice back into the tray to replenish the basin.

3 Be sure to keep your heated bird bath full of water. The heating element can fail if used while the bowl is empty.

4 Do not add salt or antifreeze to a bird bath to keep the water from freezing. These substances can kill birds.
