Timing the Snow and Wintry Mix with the Next Storm

A moderate, travel-disrupting snow will spread across the Ohio and TennesseeValleys with a new storm. A quick-hitting snow or wintry mix will spread acrosssome areas farther south that were hit by the recent southern snowstorm.Snow began falling in St. Louis early this morning, and the snow will keeppicking up in intensity as the day goes on. Louisville and Cincinnati willstart getting a moderate, steady snow this afternoon. Overnight, the steadysnow will spread into the southern Appalachians.

Meanwhile, a wintry mix of rain and snow will spread eastward from Arkansas andsouthern Tennessee into northern Mississippi today. Overnight, the wintryweather will spread farther south and east across Alabama, including into theBirmingham and Montgomery areas. Some snow and rain showers will also reachnorthern Georgia tonight.
